Though maternity photography is not the biggest slice of my photography pie, I still LOVE capturing gorgeous, pregnant mummas. I consider it an honour to take your photos in this precious window of time before your world shifts.
How it works:
My intention for your session is for it to be low-key and easy. Music, movement, soaking things in. If it’s your first haha. If this is your second or more? Then we still keep it easy, including your other babe(s) as they move in and out of photos.
I am happy to include your partner for your session, but my main focus will always be you. Ooing and aahing at how gorgeous you are, with an endless stream of encouragement. I really can’t express how beautiful I think pregnant woman are! You are creating LIFE! You are a PORTAL! YOU ARE MAGIC! And I won’t let you forget it.
I love to shoot outdoors for maternity. I enjoy the parallel of pregnancy while you are in nature. Using natural light, I will lead you through the session to capture your sweet belly and love.
In-home is no problem, using windows for light, moving within your space. But I will offer options for studio photographers. Some of my personal favourites are here and here, but there are many in the area. If you still really wanna hang with me in studio, I can give you options for spaces you can book no problem.
What to Wear:
If you ask me what to wear, I will say nothing haha. But if you’d like to wear clothing then neutral, muted, earth-toned colours are best. Creams, tans, white, muted blues and greens, soft pink, and small patterns are great. If you wear darker colours, it can work, but it is harder to see your bump.
In the end, I love a mumma in a dress, I love her in jeans and a tank, and boy oh boy do I love when you go Au naturel.
Overall, doing maternity photography is glorious to me. Is a good time no matter if it it’s just you, you and and your partner, or you and your whole fam.
