Hello! Hi! Welcome! Are youuu wondering how to get photos in your wedding attire at the top of a mountain? Then wonder no further! For the investment of a lifestyle session and travel fee, I will hike anywhere you’d like to go. What’s more, within my wedding packages, I offer engagement sessions, but they don’t always have to be before the wedding. If you’re looking for an Alberta Mountain Wedding Photographer who interchanges engagement sessions with after wedding sessions, I’m your girl. This is a great option if you don’t want to ask 150 guests to hike up a mountain or have dead thighs on your wedding day, but you still want some epic mountain top photos.

Jen + Mike chose to use me as their complete Alberta mountain wedding photographer on their wedding weekend to get just that. I shot their gorgeous day in the Canmore/Banff area on the Saturday with a much needed recovery day on Sunday (yee-haw!). We then drove to Ha-Ling Peak trail on Monday morning and began the trek upwards to some spectacular views.

They packed their wedding attire, lunch with champagne (a must) and an open mind to whatever the weather brought us. Turned out it was windy enough to blow us onto our asses, but we ended up finding a perfect, sheltered spot for them to get changed. Mike + Jen got (re)ready and embraced the elements – the wind, the light, the terrain – and simply enjoyed the experience together. In my opinion, these photos were worth every step.

My advice to those wanting to hike a mountain for photos is to release the expectation of looking perfect. You may get sweaty on the way up, your hair a little messy, but that’s okay! You’re at the top of a MOUNTAIN! Don’t worry about a thing except the view and loving your hunny! Bring a little mirror and brush to do some touchups, but enjoy the wildness.
